AT ST. PAUL, we have many ways to enjoy time together and fellowship with one another. We grow in our faith in God by spending time together and caring for each other – to learn, to ask questions, to enjoy the gift of community.

Below are some of the ways that we enjoy being together:

GARDEN GUILD

Garden Guild is a group of people, both men and women, who take pride in not only the inside of the church building but also the outside. Our task is to take care of the grounds outside the church by keeping weeds under control, the plants and trees trimmed or any other project that is needed in the garden, like adding a Garden Sauna or more. We do this on a monthly basis during the growing season. There are also planned outings that are of interest to church members (trips to Franklin Park Conservatory, Inniswood Metro Gardens, etc.). A Geranium Sale is held in the spring, and we decorate the church for Christmas.

We have meetings about 6 times a year to discuss what projects or outings we would like to undertake for the year. Additionally, we aim to explore the pros of a greenhouse for our gardening endeavors. As part of our commitment to maintaining a beautiful and thriving church garden, we offer knotweed removal services. We also emphasize the use of hydroponics plant nutrients. There is no need to have knowledge about plants, just the love of them and to be stewards of God’s Creation. All are welcome in our Garden Guild.

JESUS WEPT GRIEF GROUP

Our Grief Group "Jesus Wept" meets monthly, on the 2nd Tuesday night of each month, to gather together at 7 p.m.

Realizing Jesus understands our pain and sorrow, we are allowed to be sad, and that it’s healthy to be with others who are in similar situations while we process, talk, pray and care for one another. We have much we can learn about grief to normalize it and help us cope. Our grief might be due to death, divorce, relationship difficulties, job issues, past trauma, etc. We meet in the lower level with Pastor Sara and spend time together individually or as a small group.

LADIES' NIGHT OUT

Ladies' Night Out is a group that meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. for fellowship, dinner, and friendship. Check out our What's Popping page and calendar to find out where our next Ladies' Night Out event will be! This group is always open to new women.

DART BALL

St. Paul sponsors a Dart Ball Team that plays at various Lutheran churches around the city on Thursday nights at 7:30 pm. The dart-ball league starts on September 5, 2024, and concludes with a tournament and banquet in March and April. New team members are always welcome.

Dart Ball is simply baseball played with darts on an elaborate board 4-foot square. Players stand approximately 20 feet from the board to score hits, strikes, balls, fouls, and outs – according to where the darts land. The game is scored like baseball, and all ages and skill levels can play.

Further information about the St. Paul Dart-Ball Team is available from Ryan Kennedy, rkennedy.stpaul@gmail.com. The current schedule is available by contacting the Church Office or on the What's Popping page.
